Ekadashi Care for Helpless Monkeys

A Sacred Ekadashi Mission: Feed, Heal and Protect Helpless Monkeys
On the sacred occasion of Ekadashi, Jeevandaan Foundation is organising a compassionate Vanar Seva campaign to provide food, medical treatment and essential care to helpless monkeys. Many monkeys living near temples, forests, highways and crowded areas struggle every day due to hunger, injuries, infections and a lack of safe treatment.
This campaign is an opportunity to transform devotion into meaningful service. Your contribution can help provide fresh fruits, vegetables, nutritious food, clean drinking water, medicines and timely treatment to monkeys in need. A small act of kindness on Ekadashi can bring relief to a living being that cannot express its pain in words.
Why Monkeys Need Our Immediate Support
Monkeys often enter populated areas while searching for food and water. In these surroundings, they may consume plastic-packed waste, spoiled food and other harmful materials. Some are injured in road accidents, while others suffer from wounds caused by electric wires, animal attacks, sharp objects or fights within their groups.
Without proper care, even a minor wound can turn into a serious infection. Young monkeys may become separated from their mothers, while weak and elderly monkeys often struggle to find enough food. Through this campaign, Jeevandaan Foundation aims to reach these vulnerable animals and provide them with compassionate support.
Nutritious Food and Clean Water
Proper nutrition is essential for the health and survival of monkeys. The foundation plans to distribute suitable food such as bananas, seasonal fruits, vegetables, soaked grains and other nutritious items. Clean drinking water will also be arranged wherever possible, especially in locations where natural water sources are limited or polluted.
Responsible feeding helps protect monkeys from consuming harmful waste. It also provides strength to weak, sick and recovering animals. The food distribution will be carried out carefully so that the monkeys receive support without being frightened, harmed or unnecessarily disturbed.
Treatment for Injured and Sick Monkeys
The campaign is not limited to feeding. Jeevandaan Foundation also seeks to support the treatment of monkeys suffering from injuries, infections, weakness and other health problems. Depending on the condition of the animal, assistance may include first aid, wound cleaning, medicines, veterinary consultation, rescue support and post-treatment care.
Treating a wild animal requires patience, experience and proper precautions. The foundation works to coordinate suitable help while keeping both the animal and the rescue team safe. Every treated monkey represents a life protected from prolonged pain and unnecessary suffering.
Make Your Ekadashi Devotion More Meaningful
Ekadashi is traditionally observed through prayer, fasting, self-discipline and acts of charity. It reminds us to rise above personal desires and develop compassion for every living being. Supporting Vanar Seva on this auspicious day is a beautiful way to connect spiritual devotion with practical kindness.
Your donation may help provide food to a hungry group of monkeys, medicine for an injured animal, transport for an emergency rescue or follow-up care for a monkey recovering from treatment. Every contribution, whether large or small, becomes part of a collective mission to save lives.

Frequently Asked Questions
Jeevan Daan Foundation, conducted by Satvikdaan Charitable Trust Foundation, was founded in 2023 after a heartbreaking loss—a close friend who couldn’t afford cancer treatment. That personal tragedy became our purpose. A group of social workers with 7+ years of ground-level seva united to ensure no one is lost to neglect, hunger, or helplessness. What began with small acts has grown into a movement of compassion.
We work where the need is—slums, schools, and vulnerable neighbourhoods. Support ranges from food packets and ration kits to school supplies and vocational tools. We start with whatever we have, mobilise caring people, and deliver practical help that restores dignity and hope.
Every donation is personal to us. Funds are directed to real, time-bound needs—nutrition, basic medical help, education materials, and livelihood support like vocational tools. We aim to share simple impact updates and stories so you can see how your kindness becomes relief on the ground.
You can donate to an active campaign, volunteer your time/skills, sponsor kits (meals, education, hygiene), or start a peer-to-peer fundraiser. If you’d like to collaborate as an individual, group, or organisation, just reach out—this is a people-powered effort.
A receipt is issued for every donation. If a campaign is eligible for tax benefits, it will be clearly mentioned on the campaign page and in the receipt details. For any documentation you need, please contact us and we’ll assist you.
